This is the lower note of the trill or shake.

This where you can make your own trill or shake. You decide on the notes and my computer searches the database for all the fingerings for each note. Then it pairs them up in all permutations and orders them by minimising the number of key changes. You then get a page of up to 12 pairs of fingerings for you to try out. If you want more (or fewer) than 12 you can choose a maximum. They may not all be good – my computer doesn’t play the bassoon!

Instructions:

  • Select the lower note first.
  • Select the octave as usual
  • Click the ‘set lower note’ button.
  • Select the upper note next.
  • Click the ‘Make a Shake’ button.

This is where you set the maximum number of shake fingerings to be displayed.
